Plymouth newcomers The Native have proven themselves as a band to watch over the course of 2020, their first year on the scene. Their latest track, ‘Frontline’ fits the sound they have established perfectly, placing thoughtful vocals over a smooth, irresistible indie-pop backing. They’ve already tackled overdose and the impact of Brexit, but this track dives into a story of domestic abuse. Despite tackling such a tough subject, Charlie Noordewier’s ear for vocal melody remains genuinely impressive, and lets every word stick with you.
